Mosaic: "a picture or pattern produced from the arrangement of small colored pieces of hard materials such as glass, stone or tile."

The arrangement of various pieces and aspects of the arts is the passion of Joel Polacci. His life is a "mosaic" of artistic pursuits. A second generation stone artisan, Joel joined his family’s business and traveled the world installing stone works and mosaics. The Polacci family includes six children who all practice various forms of the arts. These passions include music, fine art, weaving, mosaics, and photography which are all fueled by the diversity of their innate worldwide perspective.

Focusing on music, Joel is an in-demand professional percussionist/teacher who has performed on many stages throughout the United States. His unique style and comprehensive view of various musical genres have led Joel to a multitude of opportunities in a variety of shows, tours, and recording sessions. Joined by his wife Christine, an accomplished vocalist herself, they've launched solo projects in the world of Latin Jazz. They’ve also backed headlining acts and toured with players with a wide range of musical tastes and formats.

Although the couple’s artistic background began in the North Eastern section of the US, they now call Los Angeles their home. The southern California lifestyle has renewed Joel's early interest in photography. It's not only a daily practice but has recently spawned a new business that he shares with his son Jerred, the lifestyle apparel brand, “Locci Street Wear.” Over the past decade, Joel's work has appeared in magazines and gallery exhibitions. His warm and excepting eye for the street culture of Los Angeles has featured images of life that are often overlooked. You'll find some piece of humanity in almost everything he captures. We are thrilled that Joel has allowed us to present his work that highlights the southern California motor culture!
